Course Overview

Portfolios are a powerful way to capture and celebrate a child’s learning journey. They bring together observations, Learning Stories, photographs, work samples, children’s voices, summative assessments, goals, and family contributions into a meaningful record of growth over time. Portfolios can be created in print or digitally and serve as an interactive, two-way tool between educators, children, and families.
This course will explore how to develop authentic portfolios that represent children’s individuality, avoid common pitfalls, and respect children’s rights and voices. You’ll also learn how to use digital tools and platforms to create modern, accessible portfolios that engage families and support transitions to school or other services.
By the end of this course, you’ll feel confident in creating portfolios that are holistic, purposeful, and valued by children, families, and educators alike.
