Course Overview

Learning Stories are a powerful way to document children’s learning through narrative. Unlike anecdotal or running records, they allow educators to use descriptive and emotive language, include children’s voices, and highlight the richness of experiences with photos or drawings.

This course will guide you through how to structure a Learning Story, from writing the narrative to analysing the learning and planning future experiences. You’ll learn how Learning Stories make children’s learning visible, link to EYLF outcomes, and strengthen connections with families by sharing authentic stories of growth and discovery.

By the end of this course, you will feel confident in writing meaningful Learning Stories that inspire, inform, and extend children’s learning journeys.
