This module will introduce you to the many facets of working with a person with a disability within the disability sector. It covers empowerment, promoting rights and independence, and explains the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its role in supporting participants.

Learners are introduced to the National Standards for Disability Services (NSDS) as a guide for quality practice, along with key definitions and concepts. The training also highlights the importance of avoiding stereotypes and recognising each person as an individual with unique needs and goals.
