This module helps support workers understand and respond to behaviours of concern that may escalate into aggression. Using a positive behaviour support approach, the course emphasises that challenging behaviours often communicate unmet needs and focuses on improving quality of life for the individual.
Participants will learn how to assess the severity of behaviours and apply strategies that are least restrictive, maintaining personal freedom and dignity. The module also covers the role of verbal and body language in defusing situations, safe exit strategies when needed, and practical approaches to manage behaviours safely and respectfully. This course is part of an award-winning suite of compliance training, designed to build confidence and skill in supporting people with challenging behaviours.
