Scaling airport security training across a dispersed workforce
ISS’s RTO is responsible for certifying thousands of airport security screening staff across Australia, a process that became significantly more complex when Certificate II in Transport Security Protection became a mandatory employment condition in 2022. Delivering consistent, compliant training nationwide, while managing the paperwork and administrative load across multiple airport locations, was unsustainable. Without a centralised platform, maintaining ASQA compliance and tracking student progress at scale posed a real operational and regulatory risk.

One platform for paperless, compliant training at scale
ISS adopted Cloud Assess in 2019 to deliver the online theory components of their Certificate II program, including quizzes, assessments, and support webinars for students. Practical training at airport locations is supported through iPad-based observation checklists and electronic signatures, keeping the entire process connected and audit-ready. Seamless integration with ISS’s existing Student Management System, PowerPro, enabled a smooth rollout, and remote messaging and assessor feedback tools allowed national and local trainers to support students without being on-site.
