Connect Selma to Cloud Assess via Our Public API
Selma is a Student Management System that connects to Cloud Assess through our public API. The integration is built and maintained by Selma — Cloud Assess exposes the data and operations needed to keep both systems in step.

What to expect from the SELMA integration
Built on the Cloud Assess public API
SELMA authenticates against the Cloud Assess API using an API client and API key provisioned in your Cloud Assess organisation. SELMA makes requests to push data in (users, enrolments) and read data back out (results, completions).
People and access
Create, update and deactivate users in Cloud Assess. Read, create and update custom field values. Assign users to job roles and organisation nodes (sites, departments, teams).
Enrolments and intakes
Create and update intakes (cohorts/classes), enrol learners into qualifications and units, and assign assessors — all from SELMA into Cloud Assess.
Results and activities
Read assessment records and unit outcomes (Competent, Not Yet Competent, RPL Granted, Credit Transfer) back into SELMA. Read form submissions and create notes against users.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have an integration with SELMA?
Yes. SELMA integrates with Cloud Assess via our public API. The integration is built and maintained by SELMA — we provide the API and the credentials.
Is it real-time or batch?
Cloud Assess responds to API requests in real time. The cadence at which SELMA makes those requests — live, scheduled or batch — is decided by SELMA.
What data is synced?
Our API supports creating and updating users, enrolments, intakes and org structure, plus reading assessment results, unit outcomes and form submissions. Which parts SELMA implements is a partner-side decision — talk to them for the specifics.
Who supports the integration if something goes wrong?
SELMA supports the integration logic — what’s called when, how data is mapped, error handling in their UI. Cloud Assess supports our API — if an API call is failing on our side, we’ll fix it.
Is there an additional cost?
Cloud Assess doesn’t charge an API access fee for partner integrations. SELMA may charge for their integration — that’s between you and them.
How is the connection secured?
Selma authenticates with an API key scoped to your organisation. The key is stored encrypted in Cloud Assess and can be revoked at any time. SELMA is responsible for storing the key securely on their side.
